Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg says five men and two women were arrested. He says officers followed up on information when they discovered the facility.
“The members visited the premises on the R-44 in Klapmuts and found the facility with alcohol manufacturing equipment inside the building. Seven Somalian nationals, five males aged between 25 and 43, and two females, both 20, were arrested for Contravention of the Liquor Act.”
“The equipment that was confiscated is – containers containing ethanol, ten big white 1 000 litre containers, empty bottles and machines. Once charged, the suspects are due to appear in the Paarl Magistrate’s Court on the mentioned charges,” Twigg explains.
